Education Benefits Information
Federal Benefits
All students planning to use federal benefits must apply through the VA (visit VA.gov) to determine eligibility. The following information explains how the payments will be dispersed.
All students using federal benefits for the first time must submit their COE (or NOBE for CH 1606), other than VR&E beneficiaries. In addition, all students using any federal benefit must submit their GI Bill® Certification form every semester.
Note: All federal benefit beneficiaries should receive their monthly payment on the first of every enrolled month, provided they have submitted their certification documentation in a timely manner. Payments may be delayed if the certification documentation has been submitted close to when students would have received their payments. The amount of this payment can vary across the semester due to class load as determined by each session. It is recommended that students maintain full-time status to receive their full monthly payment.
Refer to your respective benefit below to learn how your payments will be dispersed.
Academic Information
Students using federal benefits have access to priority registration, allowing them to be one of the first groups of students to register for next semester's courses. Check our academic calendar for priority registration dates or contact the VMCS staff.
Before making changes to enrollment after being certified, speak to one of your VMCS program managers. Changes in enrollment may affect your monthly payment and even result in the VA recouping payment already made.
